This guide may also work well as a sub plan for your substitute teacher.
PART 1 – Comprehension questions in chronological order. I have made two sets for differentiation. The multiple choice questions may also work well with ESL/ELL students. Answer keys included.
- 30 questions requiring full sentence answers.
- 30 multiple choice questions with 3 possible answers
PART 2 – Storyboard and synopsis
- Students to draw a 9 scene storyboard of what they believe to be the most important parts in the movie. To include a brief description for each scene. Remind students they can look at the movie questions to help with the sequences.
- Using their storyboards as guides, students to write a synopsis of the movie.
PART 3 – Pair work. Writing
- Student work together in choosing which word best fits with selected quotes from the movie. Words include Arrogance, Cruelty, Hope, Bravery and Faith. Each word is used only once and students also need to briefly explain why the word chosen fits best with the quote they assigned it to. Includes answers, although students may have slightly different versions.
Adapted from the Book of Exodus, the movie follows the life of Moses from being a prince of Egypt to being chosen by God to deliver the enslaved Hebrews from the cruel oppressive Pharaoh and out of Egypt.
