• 30 questions in chronological order (10 questions removed from the 40 question set)
PART 2 – Extension questions for class discussion (example answers included)
There are 8 higher level extension questions for students to complete in pairs. Read each question to the class, giving students time to discuss with their partner and write notes. Then for each question, bring the discussion back to the class. Let each pair tell the class their answers. Offer light debate if other students want to give their opinion on another pair’s answer.
The movie is about the true story of when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights. The epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965 instigated one of the most significant victories for the civil rights movement; the signing of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Perfect for Black History Month or Martin Luther King Jr. Day. (MLK Jr.)

PART 3 – Puzzle (answer key included)
1. First students need to put 10 events from the movie in the correct order.
2. Following that, the students use those answers to get 10 letters that will go into the code box.
3. They can then use those 10 letters in the code box to complete part of the secret message and to work out the sequence. Once they have the sequence they can work out the secret message and the answer to the riddle. I have highlighted the sequence in bold in the code box.
Marking idea for the comprehension questions
When the students have finished the questions, they swap their work with their friends to mark. We go through together as a class, taking it in turns to ask and answer questions. Students can also check grammar and spelling if more advanced, and then rechecked by the teacher.
This movie is about Dora, a teenage explorer, who leads her friends on an adventure to save her parents and solve the mystery behind a lost city of gold.
