Based on the novel by Cressida Cowell, the movie is about a young Viking who challenges his tribe’s battle against dragons after uncovering a secret that could change their future. As tensions rise and loyalties are tested, he must choose between following tradition or risking everything to unite two worlds on the brink of war. About the movie

Society has all but removed the natural birthing process and now relies on genetically engineering humans to enhance abilities and remove genetic disorders. The movie follows the life of Vincent, one of the few humans born naturally, and his journey to fulfil his ambition of travelling to space. The problem is his genetic makeup means he can only apply for menial jobs, and must do something drastic to achieve his dream of space travel.

Based on a true story, the movie follows four Mexican high school students who form a robotics club under the guidance of their new substitute teacher. Marking idea for the comprehension questions

When the students have finished the questions, they swap their work with their friends to mark. We go through together as a class, taking it in turns to ask and answer questions. Students can also check grammar and spelling if more advanced, and then rechecked by the teacher.

Adapted from the book by Chris Van Allsburg (who also wrote Jumanji), the movie is about two brothers, Walter and Danny, who find a mysterious board game in the basement which transports their house into outer space. They try to survive the game so they can return home.

2. Design at least one new contraption they’ll use with the “monster” and how it works.

3. Make a plan of how they’ll defeat the “monster”.

4. A layout of the stage where they’ll defeat the “monster”.

PART 2 – Creativity (writing and design)

• Students to imagine they’ve stumbled upon a secret garden surrounded by walls. They then have to draw a plan of the garden and include the entrance, lots of flowers, trees, foliage, ornaments and anything else they think would look good in the garden. They need to label it too.

• Students to close their eyes and imagine they’re opening the gate to their secret garden. They visualize walking around and write in detail everything they can see and hear in the space provided.

• Students to describe in detail what their three favorite parts in their garden look like and why they're so special. They also need to include a picture.

Based on the 1911 novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, the movie is about a young girl named Mary Lennox, who after being sent back to England from India, goes to live on her Uncle Lord Craven's estate. It is a fairly isolated existence and she has to find things to keep herself occupied, which includes finding a secret garden.
