Ghostbusters Movie Guide + Activities | Halloween | Answer Keys Inc

This 15 page movie guide with additional activities accompanies the film "Ghostbusters (1984)".

This guide may also work well as a sub plan for your substitute teacher.

PART 1 – Comprehension questions in chronological order. I have made three sets for differentiation. The multiple choice questions may also work well with ESL/ELL students. Answer keys included.

  • 50 questions requiring full sentence answers.
  • 30 questions requiring full sentence answers (20 removed from the 50 question set)
  • 30 multiple choice questions with 3 possible answers

PART 2 – Storyboard and synopsis

  • Students to draw a 9 scene storyboard of what they believe to be the most important parts in the movie. To include a brief description for each scene. Remind students they can look at the movie questions to help with the sequences.
  • Using their storyboards as guides, students to write a synopsis of the movie.

PART 3 – Creativity

  • Students to imagine they're interns at the Ghostbusters' headquarters and are tasked with documenting new ghosts captured. Students to write about the most recent one following the prompts, including a drawing of the ghost.
  • Students to imagine they're junior reporters who witnessed the phenomenon at the Ghostbusters’ headquarters. They need to write an article about what happened and include quotes from Louis about his own personal experience.

About the movie

After losing funding at their university, three parapsychologists set up shop as a ghost removal service in New York City. With business booming from a sudden surge in paranormal activity, the Ghostbusters find themselves suddenly up against a bigger threat than they had imagined.   • Students to write about one of the characters following the question prompts and to include a drawing of their chosen character.
  • Students to write a short account of Smeagol’s journey after falling from the cliff. To include pictures and writing from 3 scenes (after falling from the cliff, by Sauron’s army and at Mount Doom). Also to include conversations between himself.

This is the final movie in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Continuing the journey of Frodo and Sam on their way to Mordor in their quest to destroy the One Ring. Sauron's forces lay siege to Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor. Aragorn searches for his true self, whilst the King of Rohan prepares his forces for battle.
