This includes the following activities:

PART 1 – Comprehension questions. I have made two sets of questions depending on how much time you have and how much of a challenge you want for the students. Answers included
• 3 pages of 45 questions
• 2 pages of 25 questions (20 questions removed from the 45 question sheet)
PART 2 – Creativity. This has two pages.
• Dream making. Students draw the dream in the bottle and then write who it’s for and what it’s about.
• Students to write their plan for the queen of how they will capture the nasty giants. They also include drawings to make it easier to understand.
PART 3 – Characters. Students to draw and write about 3 characters (The BFG, Sophie and Fleshlumpeater). Can be done in a group of 3 if not much time. What they must include:
• Describing what each character looks like
• Writing about their personality
• Writing something interesting about the character, their behavior, motivation and what they like to do.
PART 4 – Just for fun. Word Search of 20 words to complete. Must answer questions for some of the words.
This movie is about Ten-year-old Sophie who has the adventure of a lifetime when she meets the Big Friendly Giant. Scared at first, the young girl soon realizes that the giant is actually quite gentle. As their friendship grows, Sophie's presence attracts the unwanted attention of some nasty giants.
