Description
This 9 page movie guide with handouts is for the film "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind (2019)". This guide will also work well as a sub plan for your substitute teacher.

PART 1 – Comprehension Questions in chronological order. I have made two sets for differentiation. Answer keys included. Extension questions at the end.
• 40 questions requiring full sentence answers.
• 30 questions requiring full sentence answers (10 removed from the 40 question set)
• 5 extension critical thinking questions to be completed after the movie. Can be used for class discussion.
PART 2 – Storyboard and Synopsis
• Students to draw a 9 scene storyboard of what they believe to be the most important parts in the movie. To include a brief description for each scene. Remind students they can look at the movie questions to remind them of the sequences.
• Synopsis. Using their storyboards as guides, students to write a synopsis of the movie.
Based on the memoir of William Kamkwamba the movie tells the story of when William was a young schoolboy during a time of drought. When the failing crops bring about a famine in the country, William devises a plan to help save his family and ultimately his village.
