  • 35 multiple choice questions with 3 possible answers

PART 2 – Storyboard and synopsis.

  • Students to draw a 9 scene storyboard of what they believe to be the most important parts in the movie. To include a brief description for each scene. Remind students they can look at the movie questions to help with the sequences.
  • Using their storyboards as guides, students to write a synopsis of the movie.

PART 3 – Newspaper article writing.

  • Students to imagine they're a junior reporter and looking for an exclusive story. They overheard a conversation about 4 kids accidently getting shrunk. Wanting to find out more, they go and conduct interviews with them about their adventure. With their imaginary interviews the students write a short article which include quotes from the interview as well as a drawing.

The movie is about scientist Wayne Szalinski who invents a shrinking machine which inadvertently shrinks his two kids plus the boys next door. Then, after accidently getting swept up and tossed out with the trash, the kids try to make their way home through the jungle of their own backyard.

Set in the future where devastating sandstorms ravage earth's crops, the movie follows Cooper, an ex-science engineer and pilot, and a select number of other scientists search for answers in the deepest corners of space. Utilizing a mysterious wormhole, they explore strange new worlds to try and find a home to save the human race.
