A blend of science, creativity, and teamwork, this game teaches critical thinking and resilience as students decide their fate on the red planet.
  • Students document each sol's events, detailing their survival strategies, use of tools, and emotional responses.
  • The groups will then share their survival experiences by reading their journal entries aloud to the class after each sol.
  • The teacher will assess each group's realism and effectiveness of their survival plans and score them. After 5 Sols, the totals are tallied to give a final score, and the game concludes with a narrative of survival.

Based on the novel by Andy Weir, the movie centers on astronaut Mark Watney, who is mistakenly left behind on Mars. Stranded alone, Watney relies on his scientific knowledge and humor to stay alive, showcasing a tale of human resilience and the will to survive against all odds
