PART 1 – Comprehension questions in chronological order. I have made three sets for differentiation. The multiple choice questions may also work well with ESL/ELL students. Answer keys included.
- 35 questions requiring full sentence answers.
- 25 questions requiring full sentence answers (10 removed from the 35 question set)
- 25 multiple choice questions with 3 possible answers
PART 2 – Writing and creativity
- The first task involves the students writing a little bit about one of the ghosts in the movie. They choose one of the four listed names, then draw a picture of that ghost and complete the questions. Students also need to write the name in to the correct box as well as the correct pronouns and possessive pronouns.
- Students to imagine they are a journalist for a made-up magazine. They have been tasked to interview one of the ghosts and need to write 10 questions and made-up answers. Students should try to stay in line with the personality of the ghost as depicted in the movie.
PART 3 – Storyboard and synopsis
- Students to draw a 9 scene storyboard of what they believe to be the most important parts in the movie. To include a brief description for each scene. Remind students they can look at the movie questions to help with the sequences.
- Using their storyboards as guides, students to write a synopsis of the movie.
The movie is about a ghost therapist and his daughter Kat, who move in to an old mansion to try and get rid of the ghosts that haunt it. During their stay, Kat meets a friendly but lonely ghost named Casper who develops a crush on her.
