PART 1 – Comprehension questions in chronological order. I have made three sets for differentiation. The multiple choice questions may also work well with lower grade or ESL/ELL students. Answer keys included.
- 45 questions requiring full sentence answers.
- 30 questions requiring full sentence answers (15 removed from the 45 question set)
- 29 multiple choice questions with 3 possible answers + 1 question requires a full sentence answer.
PART 2 – Storyboard, synopsis and character writing
- Students to draw a 6 scene storyboard of what they believe to be the most important parts in the movie. To include a brief description for each scene. Remind students they can look at the movie questions to help with the sequences.
- Using their storyboards as guides, students to write a synopsis of the movie.
- Students to write about one of the characters following the question prompts and to include a drawing of their chosen character.
PART 3 – Word search
- There are 20 words for students to find in the word search. First they must unscramble 7 words (character names) followed by answering the 5 clues (animals in the movie). Followed by the final 8 words listed below those. Answers included.
Based on the novel by Peter Brown, the movie is about a kind robot who crash lands on a remote island inhabited by animals. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and soon finds herself experiencing more than she’s programmed for.
