This guide may also work well as a sub plan for your substitute teacher.

PART 1 – Comprehension questions in chronological order. I have made three sets for differentiation. The multiple-choice questions may also work well with ESL/ELL students. Answer keys included.

• 45 questions requiring full sentence answers.
• 30 questions requiring full sentence answers (15 removed from the 45-question set)
• 29 multiple choice questions with 3 possible answers. (Q30 is a full sentence answer)

PART 2 – Storyboard and synopsis

• Students to create a 9-scene storyboard, illustrating pivotal events from the movie. Each scene should include a short description explaining the main idea it represents. Use the movie questions to guide sequencing.
• Using their storyboards as guides, students to write a synopsis of the movie.

PART 3 – Discussion questions

• Students to answer five critical thinking questions for class discussion. (Could work well in pairs)

PART 4 – Creativity

• Students to create three short diary entries from three different perspectives (Peeta, Gale, President Coin) on the day after the Capitol has fallen.
• Students to create a colorful poster for a Unity Festival in post-war Panem to unite districts and former Capitol citizens in peace, capturing hope and reconciliation. They will need to feature three specific festival activities that encourage collaboration and healing, with written details of those activities.
