This is a test I introduced to my intermediate ESL students to see how well they know their basic grammar. It then gives me an idea of which area they need more focus in.
It includes the following areas:
• Contractions (I'm, you're, we're...)
• The verb to be in positive, negative and questions (am, is, are, was, were...)
• Present continuous (it's raining, he's drinking...)
• Present simple in negative, positive and questions (I don't play the guitar, I like chocolate...)
• using have/has got (He has got a car, they've got a cat...)
There is a total of 48 questions and all answers are included at the end of the document.
